With the rapid evolution of mobile networks, 5G technology offers faster speeds, lower latency, and improved connectivity compared to 4G. If you want to upgrade from a 4G SIM to a 5G SIM, this guide will walk you through the necessary steps.
Step 1: Check Device Compatibility
Before upgrading, ensure that your smartphone supports 5G connectivity. To check this:
- Go to Settings on your device.
- Look for Network & Internet or Connections.
- Check for Preferred Network Type and see if 5G is listed.
- Alternatively, visit the manufacturer’s website for specifications.
Step 2: Confirm 5G Coverage in Your Area
Having a 5G-compatible phone is not enough—you need to be in an area with 5G coverage. You can verify this by:
- Visiting your mobile carrier’s website and checking their 5G coverage map.
- Contacting customer service for more details.
Step 3: Obtain a 5G SIM Card
Most mobile network providers require you to get a new 5G-enabled SIM card to access their 5G network. Here’s how you can get one:
- Visit a Store: Go to your carrier’s nearest outlet and request a SIM upgrade.
- Online Request: Some providers allow you to order a 5G SIM via their website or mobile app.
- Customer Support: Call your carrier’s support line and inquire about the process.
Step 4: Activate Your 5G SIM
Once you have obtained the new SIM, follow these steps to activate it:
- Turn off your phone.
- Remove the 4G SIM and insert the new 5G SIM.
- Turn on your phone and follow the on-screen prompts.
- If required, dial a specific activation code provided by your carrier.
- Wait for confirmation via SMS or a notification.
Step 5: Configure 5G Settings
To enable 5G connectivity:
- Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Preferred Network Type.
- Select 5G Auto or 5G Only depending on your carrier’s recommendation.
- Restart your device to apply the settings.

send me warid 4g setting for Samsung galaxy A3 plz
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, which was bought abroad. It worked fine on 4G/LTE abroad. When I came to Pakistan and installed a Warid 4G/LTE SIM, the device did not pick up the frequency and only worked on 2G. When referred to the main Warid Center on Murree Road in Rawalpindi, the staff, after examining the handset (several people did that for over an hour) told me that I had to buy a new set as this one did not work on the Warid frequency.
Unconvinced by the Warid experts’ opinion, I referred to this site. Followed the instructions and walla! 4G/LTE works.
