It is here announced that admissions for PICO (Pakistan institute of community ophthalmology) in session 2015 are open from now. Admissions are open for postgraduate course MPH (CEH), undergraduate courses bachelor- vision sciences (BVS) and ophthalmic technician course (OT). PICO has succeeded in attaining a status of an international institute. A number of foreigners from Asia, Africa and Middle East have already been served by the institute. Ophthalmology: a branch of medicine related to the anatomy, diseases of the eye and physiology. A specialist of ophthalmology performs both surgical and medical diagnosis. PICO is trying to attain the highest level of excellence for the prevention of eye problems. The institute if running a number of academic programs like Bachelor of vision sciences (four year graduate program), post graduate diploma and certificate courses for ophthalmic technicians and MPH in community eye health. PICO is associated with Khyber Medical University, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for its diploma/certificate programs. In academic year of 2013 the studies of old session students of MPH (CEH) continued while process for fresh admissions for the session 2014 were completed by the end of 2013. MPH (Community Eye Health) is a 2-year course in which 1 year is of taught course (Resident) and 1 year id of research work and assignment (Non-Resident). Eligibility criteria for this course is
It is a course of a total 4 year associated with Khyber Medical University.
Eligibility criteria suggested for this course is
c (premedical) or equivalent with minimum 45% marks in aggregate.
Age must be between 18 and 25.
Ophthalmic Technician Course (OT)
A 2 year diploma associated with Medical Faculty of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. One will be eligible with:
Matric (science subjects)
Minimum “c” grade.
