President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday advised the government to consider upgrading Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Islamabad (PIMS) to a medical university. The Basic Purpose behind this up gradation is to gives a society a better institute which can provides:
- quality medical education
- better patient care
- encouraging and arranging extensive research
- publication in the field of medical sciences
- awarding medical degrees
During a briefing on the up-gradation of PIMS held here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President said that the government wants up-gradation of the PIMS to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU).Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), while briefing the meeting about the proposed project, said that the PIMS Islamabad, established in 1985, was providing their services for many years in best way actually.
