Lahore Zoo was somewhere that started to function around in the era of 1860s in the form of the menagerie. It was completely settled as the zoo through the extra addition of an aviary donated by Lala Mela Ram in the year 1872. This made her turn out to be one of the oldest zoos in the whole world. This still remained under the control management of the Lahore Municipal Committee from the years 1872 to 1921. But later the management control was transferred to the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner, Lahore, and was managed through a Zoo Advisory Committee until the year 1962. After 1982, so many changes were made to the housing exhibits and the layout of the building. Its landscape pattern and administration even bring about so many changes.
