UET has conducted the ECAT entry test for all students who have done their FSC pre-engineering and now they are looking for admission in the engineering universities of Punjab. It is compulsory to appear and pass the UET ECAT test otherwise the student will not able to take admission in government engineering colleges of Pakistan. Merit list for selected students in UET will base on the ECAT test mark, Intermediate and Matric. Students who will get their name in the merit list will get admission in this university. This university offers various engineering courses including Mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and many other engineering courses. Those students who want to take admission in any engineering program at this university, they must have to pass the Engineering Colleges Admission Test ECAT which was conducted on 15 July 2025. These merit lists will update online after the 12 September because inter part 2 result is coming on 12 September and merit lists will update after the inter marks.
The University of Engineering and Technology is the government university which was established in 1921. Initially, it was named as the Maclagan Engineering College and became affiliated with the University of Punjab. It gained university status in 1962 and its name was changed to West Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology Lahore. After few years, it was again renamed to its current name in 1972.
