The Punjab Literacy and Non Formal Basic Education Department (LNFBE) will celebrate the International Literacy Day on 8 September.In this celebration department goes to introduce our mega projects with many hopes.They said Project Director Mohammad Usman had taken the charge and the association staff was being assigned their duties.The official department told that,we are presently managing five different projects in the province.
The officials said the project would be launched in all 36 districts of Punjab with a cost of Rs2.3 billion. They said Punjab had an illiterate population of 38.17 million, which is 41.53 percent of total the population of the province.However, they said, the new project – Punjab Accelerated Functional Literacy and Non Formal Basic Education Project.

The Literacy and Non Formal Basic Education Department will establish 920 CLCs for 276,000 learners in 23 selected districts having literacy rate less than 65 per cent, including Bahawalpur,Bahawalnagar.Attock, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan, Vehari, Kasur, Rahim Yar Khan, Layyah, Jhang, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Multan and Lodhran,
